Biography

Wilson Chege is a Partner at SKC Advocates LLP and heads the Energy, Projects and Infrastructure as well as the Public Procurement, Privatisation and Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) practice areas. He is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Registered Quantity Surveyor, a rare dual qualification that positions him uniquely at the intersection of law, construction, and public sector project delivery.

With over a decade of professional experience, Wilson advises on the structuring, procurement, financing, and implementation of complex infrastructure, energy, and development projects. His practice spans construction and engineering contracts, public procurement advisory, PPP transactions, contract administration, claims management, dispute avoidance, and the resolution of high-value disputes through arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. He regularly supports both public and private sector clients, including developers, contractors, consultants, financiers, and government entities.

Wilson began his career in quantity surveying, where he gained extensive experience in cost estimation, project valuation, tendering processes, and contract administration on large-scale developments. He later transitioned into legal practice after qualifying as an advocate, advising on construction disputes, land and real estate matters, and commercial transactions. A significant aspect of his career includes his involvement with the State Department for Housing and Urban Development, where he supported the Affordable Housing Programme through project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory compliance across multiple counties.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying and has undertaken advanced training in legal practice, arbitration, and project management. Wilson is a member of the Law Society of Kenya, the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya, and the Architectural Association of Kenya. He is recognized for providing commercially astute, technically informed, and practical legal solutions on complex infrastructure and public sector projects.
