Managing Partner

Biography

Sharon Chebet is the Managing Partner at SKC Advocates LLP, where she also heads the Data Privacy and Cybersecurity as well as the Conveyancing and Real Estate practice areas. She is a highly regarded legal practitioner with a strong focus on technology law, data protection, and cybersecurity, and is particularly experienced in data governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management in data-driven environments.

Sharon has advised a wide range of clients on the development and implementation of data protection compliance frameworks, cross-border data considerations, and the mitigation of legal and regulatory risks arising from the collection, processing, and use of personal data. Her practice reflects a deep understanding of both the Kenyan data protection regime and the broader international regulatory landscape within which modern organisations operate. She routinely supports clients navigating complex compliance obligations while aligning legal requirements with operational and commercial realities.

In addition to her technology-focused practice, Sharon advises on conveyancing and real estate transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, leases, and property due diligence. Her broader practice also encompasses competition law—particularly merger control and regulatory approvals—as well as commercial law, employment law, and intellectual property. This breadth enables her to provide well-rounded, strategic advice to clients across multiple sectors.

Sharon is known for her client-focused and collaborative approach, combining strong technical expertise with clarity, accessibility, and practical insight. She places particular emphasis on understanding her clients’ businesses and objectives, ensuring that her advice is commercially relevant, responsive, and sustainable.
